Bring Your Vehicle to Heath’s Auto Service for a Spring AC Check

Now is the perfect time to call our shop and schedule a service for your car, truck, or C/SUV’s air conditioner. Heath’s Auto Service is the only shop you need for all of your auto service and repair in Flagstaff, AZ. We will inspect the AC and test the components of the system to make sure they are operating as they should be so you will be cool and comfortable all summer long.

Inspect the Condenser

For example, we will inspect the condenser to make sure that it hasn’t been damaged or clogged by road debris. The condenser is located directly behind your vehicle’s grille. Consequently, this opens it up to problems because its air inlets are clogged or it has been damaged by tiny rocks. The air conditioning system needs the condenser to keep the refrigerant cool so the blowing air remains cold.

Test the Condenser Fan

Aside from funneling outside air over the refrigerant through the condenser air inlets, the condenser also uses a fan to keep the refrigerant cold. We will test the condenser fan to make sure that it is working properly. We will also inspect it for damage. If you need a new condenser fan, it isn’t a problem for us to replace the old one with a new one. This, too, keeps the blowing air cold.

Inspect the Compressor

Another air conditioning system part we will inspect is the compressor. The compressor likes to work hard, so it can malfunction after a winter where it hasn’t been used. The compressor circulates the refrigerant through the air conditioning system and also compresses its original gas form into a refrigerant that is liquid. We will test the compressor to make sure it is working.

Check the Refrigerant Level

Spring is also the perfect time to check the refrigerant level in your car’s air conditioning system. We will check to make sure that you have plenty of refrigerant in the system so you have cold air blowing through the vents all summer long. If necessary, we will top off the refrigerant.

Test the Electrical System

Finally, we will also test your air conditioning system’s electrical system to make sure every wire, relay, and fuse is working. One common problem we run across with vehicle air conditioning systems is that the switch to turn on the air conditioner stops working. We will check the entire electrical system.
