Now is the perfect time to check all of your vehicle’s belts, too, to make sure none of them need to be changed. A broken belt can stop your vehicle cold and, if it’s the timing belt, it can seriously damage your vehicle’s engine. Let us look for frayed and worn belts before you hit the road.
Fluid Check
It’s also time to check all of your automotive fluids, including your engine coolant and transmission oil. You do not want to get stuck on the road overheating because your engine coolant needed to be changed. Perhaps the most important fluid check is the oil. If you are due for an oil change, do not leave on your trip without getting it done. You’ve probably heard this a million times, but motor oil is your engine’s lifeblood. It’s important to have fresh motor oil in the engine before any road trip.
